From July 6th to 12th, 2026, immerse yourself in seven days of dance, community, and exploration of Contact Improvisation in Galicia.
Brinca is an invitation to discover dance as play, risk, and community connection, deepening your learning and practice of Contact Improvisation.

Nica Portavia
(She/they)
Nica is a dancer and activist whose work explores the interconnections between bodies, politics, humanity, and anthropology.
They teach internationally and are currently collaborating with Karen Nelson on a performance called Smaller, and with Charlie Morrissey, co-teaching a workshop exploring queerness, Material for the Spine, and Contact Improvisation.
Dance has been always their way to encounter the world, the others, themselves.

Jo Bruhn
(He/they)
Jo lives in SerVivo, a community of artists living immersed in nature in Portugal.
For nearly 20 years, Contact Improvisation has been their passion.
Their intensive work with Nancy Stark Smith laid the foundation for them to teach, explore, and integrate Contact Improvisation into their dance performances and life.
For almost a decade, they have been sharing this passion across Europe, inspiring others to move and connect.


Andrea Scheel
(She/her)
Andrea Scheel is Mexican somatic educator and researcher trained in naturopathy, contemporary dance, and physical and aquatic therapies.For over a decade, she has been organizing festivals, immersions, and trainings in CI, somatics, and water-based practices.
She founded Liquid Flow in 2013, which later evolved into Contact and Flow in 2018.

Ilda Freire
(They/them)
Ilda is a Spanish dancer and Contact Improvisation facilitator whose work weaves together movement, somatic practices, and body awareness.
They teach regularly in Madrid and internationally, and co‑create projects such as CuerpoColectivo, collaborating with artists worldwide and focusing on creating inclusive spaces and visibility for queerness and dissidences.
Ali Soler
(They/them)
Ali is a dancer and performer based in Barcelona, working in the independent scene of contemporary dance and improvisation.
They have been connected to the Antic Teatre artistic community and collaborate with different choreographers and interdisciplinary projects exploring presence, the body, and collective creation.
They are also a somatic therapist specializing in trauma.

Live Music
Galicia Contact Festival is a vibrant space for dance, connection, and creativity.
Alongside jams hosted by our musicians, there will also be evening live music sessions inviting dancers and musicians into spontaneous co-creation.
